What is a sinus lift?

When upper teeth are missing, the sinuses, which are spaces of air behind the cheeks, and may become enlarged and prevent the placement of dental implants. Please keep in mind that dental implants need bone to be stabilized. 

A sinus lift procedure with bone augmentation in the sinus allows growth and maturation of new bone. After several months, the deposited bone becomes part of the patient’s jaw and dental implants can be placed in the new solid bone.
